"Along with the potato, the mainstay of the traditional Irish diet was bread. We remember our mothers baking soda bread two or three times a week - as children we would eat it warm from the oven, sometimes with farmhouse butter & strawberry jam.............. delicious! Not everyone has the touch for good bread-making, and the calibre of a wife used to be judged by the lightness of the bread she would bake.

Our soda bread mix makes consistently light & delicious bread every time - white & wheaten. The recipe is a family tradition handed down from generation to generation. The bread used to be made when butter was scarce as it tastes delicious just by itself!
